 note = {This paper introduced “SEKEN-GAKU” (1908) written by Sazanami Iwaya, a wellknown writer and children’s literary writer, and its analysis, clarifies the material 
value from a pedagogical point of view and his view of education. And the purpose is 
to discuss the educational significance of modern times by considering.
Sazanami Iwaya has published two books on the subject of education- “MOMOTARO
SYUGI NO KYOIKU”(1917) and “MOMOTARO SYUGI KYOIKU SINRON(1931)”- and 
“SEKEN-GAKU” is closely related to these two books. Then by analyzing “SEKENGAKU” and knowing his view of education, humanity, and sense of the times, the 
modern significance of “SEKEN-GAKU” became clear.
In conclusion, “SEKEN-GAKU” discuss Sazanami Iwaya’s view of humanity in 
relation to “SEKEN” and is characterized by the fact that it is discuss based on the 
ideas of Western Europe and the position of Japan as an emerging country. Argues 
that positiveness is necessary for the Japanese. This idea was the view of education 
that Sazanami Iwaya had for the rest of his life, In addition, this book has something 
in common with modern Japanese moral education and career education, and its 
material value is recognized there., 本稿は、児童文学者として有名な巌谷小波が著した『世間學』を紹介すると共に彼が記した一連の著作には『世間學』で示した考え方が根底にあり、特に『桃太郎主義の教育』とは密接な関わりがあることを明らかにした。そして、彼が主張した教育論は、現代の日本の教育や子育てにも示唆を与え、その点で『世間學』には教育的な観点における資料的価値があると論じた。},
