In the 1st period (from ancient to Edo Period),\nChinese icehouse culture (ice collection / ice storage technology /utilization of the stored\nice) was introduced to Japan through migrants, and the upper classes in the aristocratic\nand samurai society only were able to use the stored ice and snow. In the 2nd period\n(from Meiji to early Showa period), the Western ice culture by Boston ice imported was\nconveyed, and the supply and consumption of stored snow and ice was booming to mass\nsociety too.
