| 内容記述 | The purpose of this paper is to analyze the Japanese complementizer “to” used in TV news programs, especially in sports news. Generally speaking, “to” is used with verbs like “iu” (say) or “omou” (think) to mark subordinate clauses. However, in TV news programs, “to” is often used in a different way these days. This paper tries to relate the special use of “to” to the analysis of Japanese resultative constructions by Todoroki (2002, 2004). | |||||
