| 内容記述 | This paper discusses the results of an online questionnaire conducted in 2022 on Japanese women’s attitudes toward marriage (J-WAMs). This is a preliminary study for developing a marriage index (Maridex) to analyze the discriminatory structure of the marriage system in Japan. While it is widely recognized that social systems and structures have an impact on discrimination against women, we must consider structural factors other than modern capitalism and industrialization as the cause of this discrimination in Japan. We assume that one of the causes of this discrimination in Japan is in the marriage system; and that the marriage system itself reproduces discrimination against women. Japanese cultural norms and ways of thinking about love and marriage supports this discrimination system. The preliminary survey targeted 560 women aged 20 to 59 and inquired on participants demographic characteristics, their views on marriage and income, their reasons for marriage,and their associations with love and marriage. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, regression analysis, and text mining. The results show the uniqueness of the responses of participants in their 20s compared to other age groups, and significant differences depending on marital status, such as: married, divorced, and single. For people in their 20s, “shotgun marriages (Deki-kon)” will be a “normal” reason of marriage (in 1990’s,it was not “normal marriage”), simply because there are many couples who marry “after having a baby.” While there are young people who are concerned about the financial burden of marriage, there are also those who feel “benefits other than money” regarding marriage. This paper examines these diversities of views and opinions on marriage varied by status and age groups. |

| 内容記述 | 女性差別に社会制度や構造が影響していることは広く認識されているが、日本においていまだに女性が差別されている状況については、近代資本主義や産業化「以外」のところに構造的要因があると考えざるを得ない。日本における女性の差別状況の原因を、「結婚制度」にあると仮定し、「結婚制度の存続自体が女性差別を再生産」しており、その制度を支える恋愛・結婚への考え方そのものが女性差別の原因であるとする。そしてその恋愛・結婚に関する価値観のどの部分が女性差別の源泉となっているかを、指標（「Maridex」）を作って検証する、というのが最終目標であるが、本論文は2022 年度に実施した、その指標Maridex 作成のために実施した予備調査（20～59 歳女性560 名対象）の結果分析である。全体の傾向としては、多くの質問で20 代の回答が他の年代の傾向と比べて特異的であること、既婚・離婚／独身という結婚ステータスによって有意差がみられることが多い、ということである。まわりに「でき婚」が多かった20 代は、「子どもができたから」結婚することを普通だと思っている可能性がある。また、結婚への金銭的負担の懸念が大きい若者がいる一方で、結婚すると「金銭面以外の利点」を実感するというような、「日本の結婚の姿」も見えてきた。 | |||||||||||
