| 内容記述 | This paper analyzes the ROK's perception of the East Asian security environment and discusses how the ROK conducts its diplomacy in this context. Traditionally, the cornerstone of ROK diplomacy has been toward the four neighboring countries: the U.S., Japan, China, and Russia. Now, economic benefits have been added to it. And ROK's perception of East Asia has shifted from the "economic and security dilemma" to "instability caused by the U.S.-China conflict. Compared to Japan, ROK does not express a perception of any particular country as a threat. In conclusion, I analyzed the Indo-Pacific strategy as a new approach to Korean diplomacy. While the U.S. and Japan’s strategies seek to exclude China, the ROK’s strategy seeks to embrace China. |
