内容記述 | This paper aims to analyze text construction by auxilliary verbs in classical Japanese. First, we propose classification models for these auxilliary verbs from the perspective of witness evidentiality (Menomae-sei). Based on this models, auxilliary “tari” is categorizedinto witness evidential one, that is, describing events in front of speaker, in contrust, auxilliary “mu” is non witness evidential. Second, through the consideration of some exemples, we confirmed that auxilliary verb “keri” indicates viewpoint of the narrator, whereas auxilliary “tari” that of characters of the story. And in some cases, the narrator describes foreground event using “tari” or “ki”, by contrust, backgound one is explained by “keri”. This means both auxilliary verbs constructthe perspective of narrative. Finally, in “Amayo-no-Shinasadame” of the Tale of Genji, we find out the functionai relationship between auxilliary “ki”, “mu”, and basic form of verbs. There, “ki” is used when characters tell their own experiences, “mu” used for telling general facts, and basic form of verbs used when narators explain the truth using metaphors. Also we confirmed that the way of using auxilliary verbs reflects buddhism preaching style in this short story. |
