| 内容記述 | This article shows the possible analogies between cars and family; this idea inspired from the article “Japanese Marriage and its nature as “gender inequality” - comparative analysis between Japan and France” (Aihara 2016). According to this article, Japanese marriage is an institution based on gender inequality like a couple or a family traveling by car, where the driver has absolute decision-making power over the passengers in the car. This situation may illustrate the hierarchical relationship between the Japanese husband and wife. The Author aims to analyze these analogies and to explore the most relevant points: 1. Similarities as “products” of Capitalism and industrialization in the modern era, 2. Absence of the “coach culture” in Japan, 3. Driver's power as a representation of the hierarchical relationship between Japanese husband and wife, 4. Arguments of "external diseconomies" and analogy of family function as unequal distribution of domestic tasks between women and men. |

| 内容記述 | 2016年に拙稿「男女不平等としての結婚―フランスとの比較から」（相原2016）の論文でで、「日本の結婚は男女の不平等にこそその本質がある」と論じ、その不平等性を「クルマの運転」に例えて論じたが、このアイデアを発展させたのがこの論文である。クルマと家族の類似点は第一に、どちらも「近代資本主義産業社会の産物」であるという点、第二に、クルマも家族も欧米ではかなりの期間をかけて発展してきた歴史があるのに対し、日本ではどちらも明治維新期に「輸入」され、急激に発展してきたという点。第三は、どちらも「運転手（稼ぎ手）問題」があるということ。そして最後に、どちらも「近代」という時代が与えた役割の中に、克服すべき「外部不経済」の問題があったということである。家族をクルマとの類似点から分析しなおすことによって、その問題点が明らかになるのである。 | |||||
