内容記述 | In this study, I reported on the practice of activities to think about the diversity of Japanese people in the Japanese language supporter training course in regional Japanese language education, and how the participants came to understand "multicultural coexistence" through this practice. "Japanese vs. foreigners" is always a problem when thinking about multicultural coexistence. Multicultural coexistence tends to be thought of as living in harmony with foreigners from the perspective of the Japanese. For this reason, multicultural coexistence is regarded as a relationship between "Japanese" and "foreigners," which causes the problem of asymmetry in local Japanese language activities. Multicultural coexistence is not something to think about in such a binary opposition, but relates to everyone who lives in Japan, and it is necessary to think about multicultural coexistence from this viewpoint. Therefore, for participants who want to be involved in Japanese language activities in the region, I conducted an activity to think about the diversity of Japanese people in the course. After that, an interview survey was conducted with the participants. As a result of the survey, it became clear that the participants noticed the diversity of Japanese people and that there was a change in their thinking about foreigners. Through this activity, they understood multicultural coexistence was not the coexistence of "Japanese and foreigners" but the coexistence of all people living in Japan and a deepened understanding of multicultural coexistence. |
