| 内容記述 | The purpose of this paper is to consider Wang Chong’s postulated position on the glorification of the Han. Often called a heterodox and critical thinker who praised the Han Dynasty while considerable conventional research shows that in the Glorification of Han, Wang Chong continually criticized the common people as a form of flattery towards to the Han Dynasty as well as in order to protect his own personal safety. In other words, it is negatively thought that Wang Chong’s glorification of the Han was the limits of his critical philosophy containing inconsistent arguments. On the contrary, it can be thought that Wang Chong’s glorification of the Han is a critique triggered by the Confucianists’ principles of “revere the classics and renounce the modern.” Their principles of “revere the classics and renounce the modern” was a result of their academic attitude of continual reading and memorizing of the classic Confucian writings. Literary style is not simply reciting memorized text but something which is created, written and carrying out moral influence. Writing the glorification of Han is a moral influence. Now, it is not possible for Wang Chong to come into contact with the moral influence of the sages. If possible, it would be ideal to be close to the Emperor, be in direct contact with the benevolent rule and write the glorification of Han. That, as a Confucianist, is the duty of a minister. If that is not possible, it would at least be ideal to write Lunheng and within that, the glorification of Han, and as a result of correcting any falsehoods within the world, lead the world on a more virtuous path. That would have been Wang Chong’s sincere desire and that is the main point of this paper. |

| 内容記述 | 拙稿は王充のいわゆる頌漢論に関する考察である。異端思想家・批判思想家と言われている王充が漢王朝を称賛したことに対して、従来の多くの研究では、頌漢論は世俗一般に対して批判を繰り返してきた王充がその身の安全を図るために行われた、漢王朝の権威に対する諂いの結果であるとしている。すなわち、頌漢論は王充の批判主義の限界とか矛盾であるという否定的考えである。それに対して拙稿では、王充の頌漢論は、むしろ儒者たちの「尊古卑近」主義に対する批判に端を発したものである、と考える。彼らの「尊古卑近」主義は、経書を読み諳んじるばかりの学問的態度が生んだ結果である。そして今、儒者たちに求められるのは、頌漢論を書き記すことである。文章は朗読し諳んじるものではなく、創造し、書くものであり、徳治を行うことである。頌漢論を書くことは徳治である。今、王充は聖人の徳治を身近に触れることはできない。できるならば、皇帝の傍にいて、その徳政に直接触れ、頌漢論を著したい。それが儒家としての、臣下としての務めである。それが叶わぬならば、せめて『論衡』を著し、その中で頌漢論を書き、世の中の虚妄を正すことによって、天下を徳化に導くことが王充の切なる願いであるとした、と捉えるのが拙稿の主旨である。 | |||||
